Member rate: $60.00

Non-Member rate: $75.00

Spring containers are the most rewarding of seasonal plantings because they are symbolic of a new beginning after the winter months.

Many gardeners rely on pansies to bring their pots back to life. There is more to spring plantings than pansies. As container-gardeners we want to take spring containers to the next level by opening your eyes to many more plant and pot choices.

If you’re keen to start gardening, but your soil is too cold and damp for digging, consider potting up a spring container instead. Depending on the weather, spring containers planted with beautiful, cold-tolerant plants now will give you several weeks of colour until it’s time to replant them for the summer, while satisfying your need to get your hands in some soil.

In the workshop, learn about:

  • Types of containers, growing medium and amendments
  • Techniques for transplanting seedlings into containers
  • The lore around the plants we will be planting,
  • Care of your container- wearing, fertilizing and deadheading
  • Propagating and/or planting on your plants into the next season

All supplies are provided but feel free to bring your garden gloves and an apron if you like!
