Drawing class with Jessica
Mondays Nov 4th and 18th, Dec 2nd and 16th from 7 to 9pm
This Beginner Drawing Class offers a welcoming and supportive environment for aspiring artists, hobbyists, and everyone in between to explore the fundamental techniques of drawing.
Focused on using graphite and other drawing materials, this class is designed for those who are new to drawing or looking to refine their skills. Jessica guides participants through essential techniques that lay the groundwork for their artistic journey, all while fostering a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Class Structure
Each session begins with a brief introduction to the day’s topic, followed by hands-on practice. Key techniques include:
Line and Shape: Understanding how to create the basic building blocks of any drawing.
Shading and Texture: Exploring how light interacts with objects to add depth and realism.
Composition: Learning how to arrange elements on the page for a balanced and engaging artwork.
Proportion: Practicing the relationships between different elements to achieve accurate representations.
Under Jessica’s guidance, students participate in a mix of structured exercises and personal exploration, allowing them to develop their unique styles while receiving constructive feedback.
Whether you’ve always wanted to draw or are seeking a new hobby, our Beginner Drawing Class with Jessica Tonn is the perfect place to start. Come unleash your creativity, learn new skills, and connect with fellow art enthusiasts. We can’t wait to see what you’ll create!

Want to sponsor a CHOA event?
Did you know that the CHOA hosts events and regularly communicates to residents through email newsletters and a monthly printed newsletter?
A few small businesses have approached the CHOA with an interest in providing sponsorship of varying levels, in exchange for promotion in different forms. We would love to help promote local businesses and are able to do so in a number of different ways:
Level one: $50.00-$99.00
Includes: Social media promotion
Level two: $100.00-$199.00
Includes: Social media promotion, and inclusion of your business name as a sponsor in our newsletters
Level three: $200.00+
Includes: Social media promotion, inclusion of business name as a sponsor/partner in our newsletters, and in-person representation opportunities – Businesses are welcome to set up a table or tent to offer promotional items (ie: business cards, samples, or draw baskets), provide a tent/canopy with business logo/info for our use, or have representatives mingle in person during events to hand items out.
As we continue to grow, so will our promotional offerings, so your feedback is welcome.
If you are interested in sponsorship, please reach out to us at admin@crestmonthall.com!
Questions about who is responsible for what
We know that there are many questions surrounding which organization is responsible for what. We will be creating a detailed document to provide a clear breakdown. The CHOA, CCA, and City of Calgary websites each provide details about their individual responsibilities.
Questions for the CHOA should be directed to admin@crestmonthall.com.
Questions for the CCA should be directed to info@crestmontcommunity.org.
Questions for the City of Calgary should be directed to 311.
While the CHOA Board welcomes questions, conversations and engagement with our members, we do expect that such interactions with volunteers, staff, and all other members generally, be respectful. To that end the Board has adopted an anti-harassment policy that is posted below. Thank you for helping make our community a pleasant and cooperative one.
